Exciting collab for two of Whitstable’s award-winning businesses.

Exciting collab for two of Whitstable’s award-winning businesses.

Dunk Cookies and HatHats Coffee Company have announced an exciting collab which will create jobs and fuel the expansion of both businesses.

Dunk Cookies will be transferring its lease on its retail premises at the South Quay Shed in Whitstable Harbour to HatHats Coffee Company enabling it to combine both the units to offer its full range of products with increased space and power.

Cookie fans need not worry as Dunk Cookies have negotiated an exciting distribution deal with HatHats Coffee which will not only see their Cookies remain on the shelves of HatHats Coffee in the South Quay Shed they will also be able to be purchased at a number of the firm’s other outlets across East Kent.

Annabelle Cox, Dunk Cookies founder said ‘We currently sell the majority of our cookies online, but we also have a large local following, and the collaboration with HatHats provides an opportunity to stock our products, not just locally in Whitstable, but also in Herne Bay and Canterbury. This will be fantastic news for our local customers.

Currently, we transport our cookies from our factory on the other side of Whitstable to the harbour daily. As much as we love the South Quay Shed, and have loved being a tenant there, the collaboration allows us to look for a new larger premise which will enable us to bake and serve our cookies on-site. We’d love for the new bakery to be an immersive experience where our customers can watch their cookies being made and baked.’

Louis Hurst, 44 from Whitstable who founded HatHats with his wife Lisa said ‘We are delighted to be expanding our Whitstable footprint and be able to offer more of the products we offer elsewhere such as our sweet and savoury crepes and other snack options. This has always been part of our long-term plan, and the addition of Dunk Cookies to our product range will only enhance our offer’.

HatHats Coffee hopes to create three new jobs as part of the bigger space and will also transfer two of Dunk Cookies’ current team of ten to the business.

Annabelle founded Dunk Cookies because dunking cookies into spreads was her favourite not-so-guilty treat and couldn’t find anywhere selling a similar product so decided to manufacture them herself and has accumulated nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram and added ‘The collaboration also allows us to focus on dunkcookies.co.uk and continue to expand our wholesale offering which will see Dunk Cookies on the shelves of stores nationwide.’

Initially, Dunk Cookies will be found at both HatHats stores in Herne Bay at the newly opened Central Store within the Herons Leisure Centre, Herne Bay Railway Station and both its stores in Canterbury at the Barista Academy and Canterbury East Station as well as retaining a display at the South Quay Shed in Whitstable with plans to expand across its entire portfolio if the partnership goes well.
